Hey there! I’m a software developer from Washington (the real one) who now lives in San Diego. I’ve spent a lot of my professional career in the web world, working mostly with WordPress and Shopify building custom themes and solutions, though there’s been some mobile app development as well.
I started web dev by working for one of Western Washington University’s ATUS sub-departments, building tools for professors to use in their classrooms. While there I build a prototype app for iOS for the biology department which was a field guide for identifying plants. After graduating I worked for an agency (Sole Graphics) who mostly built bespoke WordPress themes (and plugins).
Later I moved to San Diego and joined BVA, where my life in eCommerce got started. I got to work with incredible developers, designers, and clients – and was fortunate enough to work on some high end sites like Native Deodorant, Look Our Way, Black Rifle Coffee, and even Pit Viper (their old site before their recent redesign).
After a time I moved to eHouse Studio, where I was a tech lead helping organize and lead projects from the tech side of things while still keeping a hand in the software (a little). I spent a good amount of time chatting it up with clients, working through their questions and requests, and guiding them through the processes of building a site and which requests would serve their business best and should be highest priority. Also doing code review for the team. So much code review.
After a brief stint with Fire Dept Coffee, I now find myself doing work at Universal Music Group doing Shopify related work. I’ve also released some personal projects throughout my days, such as The Value Companion (my crowing achievement… so far).
Outside of work I enjoy just about anything kitchen related. Cooking, roasting & brewing coffee, making tinctures and bitters, and some bartending. I’ve also started picking up my guitars again after a long time apart; though I’m admittedly rusty.
I don’t spend a whole lot of time on the social medias but always feel free to hit me up on Linkedin or Twitter!
